Davidson Historical Society presents its final program of the fall, a tour of the Davidson College Cemetery on North Main Street, on Sunday, November 16, at 3pm.
Society vice president Rachel Workman, who also owns and runs the Ghosts of Davidson walking tours, will give a brief talk and lead a tour of the cemetery.
The Davidson College Cemetery was built in 1838, just a year after the founding of Davidson College. It's still owned by the college and includes the burial sites of college presidents and others with connections to Davidson. Workman has studied the cemetery and has stories about many of those buried there.
"If you’ve ever wanted to know what secrets lie buried in Davidson, you won’t want to miss this tour," Workman says.
The program will be at the cemetery, 544 North Main St., Davidson, NC. Parking is available on the southbound side of North Main Street, or on side streets nearby. It's free. Register at DavidsonHistoricalSociety.org, where you also can become a member of the society. Memberships begin at $25 a year.
